Our registration, and your rights
The Tax Practitioners Board requires every registered agent to tell current and prospective clients the following. We think it is worth knowing anyway.
We are a registered BAS agent
Simple Books Bookkeeping is registered with the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) as a BAS agent, registration number 26126770. Only a registered BAS agent may charge a fee to prepare or lodge your BAS. You can check our registration, and any conditions on it, on the TPB public register by searching for the registration number.
We provide BAS services: bookkeeping, activity statement preparation and lodgement, payroll and superannuation processing, taxable payments annual reports, and ABN and GST registrations. We do not prepare income tax returns.
How to make a complaint
If something is not right, tell Will first, by phone or text on 0449 923 159 or by email at will.simplebooks@gmail.com. He will acknowledge your complaint within two business days and aim to resolve it within ten.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle it, you can complain to the Tax Practitioners Board using its online complaints form. The TPB will tell you what happens next.
Your rights and our obligations
As a registered agent we must follow the TPB's Code of Professional Conduct, which includes acting honestly and with integrity, acting in your best interests, keeping your information confidential, taking reasonable care, and holding professional indemnity insurance. The TPB explains what clients can expect in its information for clients factsheet.
You have obligations too: to give us complete and accurate information, and to give it to us in time to lodge by the due date. If you do, and a lodgement is still late, the ATO's safe harbour rule protects you from the failure-to-lodge penalty.
Fees
Our prices are published on the pricing section of the homepage. Every price includes bookkeeping for the quarter. There is no contract; you pay per quarter and can stop at any time.
